Resolved Question: When Should I Ask For A Raise?

Ok Here's the details. I work for a rather large non-profit agency on Long Island. I'm not going to include a lot of details, to hide my identity. I started in the beginning of August. So I have been working a little over 6 months. My title is basically Technical Support or Help Desk. I support approx 50 users with very limited supervision. I only see my boss maybe once or twice a month usually at meetings. So you can almost say I have two jobs where I am getting paid for one. Questions I have 1) Is it too early to ask for a raise considering I haven't been working a year yet? If so when would be a good time to ask? 2) What kind of raise should I ask for? Should I just say a number like $40,000 or say a percentage? What raise amount would you consider fair?
